Piqua Youth Enrichment Activities Grants
The Foundation now funds Youth Enrichment Activities with YEA! Grants, which can be requested by any school, youth program or community group having charitable non-profit status with the IRS. “The purpose of a YEA! Grant is not to fund everyday needs, but rather to offer unique opportunities to youth from Piqua,” explained Karen Wendeln, executive director of The Piqua Community Foundation. “We award grants of up to $1000 to programs that are creative and innovative, and that will provide our young people with experiences to expand their horizons and help them grow socially and culturally.” The YEA! grants are being made possible through a 3-year grant from the Jacob G. Schmidlapp Trusts, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee. A total of $5000 will be awarded each year for YEA! Grants in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The Foundation hopes that interest in these enrichment grants will spark additional contributions to allow YEA! Grants to be given beyond the initial three years. The Foundation will continue its current grant program of Foundation grants and mini-grants. For more information or a grant application, please call The
